1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Martin Carter of Buffalo, Minnesota, for receiving the Eagle Award.
1.3WHEREAS, the Eagle Award is the highest award given by the Boy Scouts of America; and
1.4WHEREAS, attaining the rank of Eagle in the Boy Scouts is an important achievement
1.5that is worthy of recognition; and
1.6WHEREAS, Martin Carter is a member of Buffalo Boy Scouts of America Troop 358 and
1.7has displayed the attributes of a responsible and serving member; and
1.8WHEREAS, he has demonstrated mastery of all scouting skills and completed a
1.9community service project, which involved collecting used cell phones, which were exchanged
1.10for calling card time for U.S. soldiers serving overseas; and
1.11WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts Board of Review met on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, and
1.12bestowed the rank of Eagle Scout on Martin; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.14congratulates Martin Carter of Buffalo, Minnesota, for receiving the Eagle Award.
1.15BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare a
1.16copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the Chair of the
1.17Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Martin Carter.
