Senator Erin P. Murphy called the meeting to order at 12:35 pm

Presentation by Commissioner Marquart. 


S.F. 323: Senator Westlin: Additional investment authority provision for qualifying local units of government.

Senator Westline moved SF 323.

 

Testimony was heard from Bill Blonigan, Mayor of Robbinsdale, Gary Carlson, League of MN Cities.

 

Chair Murphy laid SF 323 over for possible inclusion in omnibus bill. 


Be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

S.F. 658: Senator Dibble: Procedure provision to resolve disputes between public utilities and customers.

Chair Murphy moved SF 658 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Judiciary and Public Safety Committee. 

 

Motion prevailed with unanimous voice vote.

S.F. 439: Senator Hoffman: Minnesota Higher Education Facilities Authority restructure and renaming as the Minnesota Health and Education Facilities Authority; construction and financing of health care facilities authority authorization; bonding capacity increase.

Senator Hoffman presented SF 439. Testimony was heard from Gary Fick, Executive Director of Minnesota Higher Education Facilities Authority.

 

Chair Murphy moved SF 439 be recommended to General Orders. 

 

Motion prevailed with unanimous voice vote. 


Senator Murphy moved that S.F. 439, be recommended to pass. - MOTION PREVAILED.

S.F. 833: Senator Marty: Cities and towns have permission to require additional licensing for hotels.

Senator Marty moved to the A1 amendement. 

 

Motion prevailed with unanimous voice vote.

 

Testimony was heard from Chief Erika Schneider, Roseville Police Department; Robert Kisabeth, TPI Hospitality; Jill Sims, Director of Government Relations for Hospitality Minnesota.

 

Chair Murphy laid SF 833 as amended over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

S.F. 1086: Senator Cwodzinski: Political subdivision compensation limit repeal.

Senator Cwodzinski presented SF 1086.

 

Testimony was heard from Patrick Keane, City Council Rochester; Charlene Stevens, Executive Recruiter for GovHR USA; Gary Carlson, League of MN Cities; Matt Massman, executive director of MN inter-county association.

 

Chair Murphy laid SF 1086 over for possible inclusion in omnibus bill. 


Senator Murphy moved that S.F. 1086, be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.
