Present: Senator Steve A. Cwodzinski - Chair, Senator Erin K. Maye Quade Vice Chair, Senator Jim Abeler, Senator Liz Boldon, Senator Julia E. Coleman, Senator Zach Duckworth, Senator Grant Hauschild, Senator Mary K. Kunesh, Senator Alice Mann, Senator Nathan Wesenberg

Senator Steve A. Cwodzinski called the meeting to order at 12:33 pm.

S.F. 183: Senator Maye Quade: Nonexclusionary discipline provision.

Chair Cwodzinski moved SF183 to be heard in committee; be referred to the Committee on Education Finance.

Senator Maye Quade presented SF183.

The following testified on SF183:

·         Chris Bjerklie, Principal, J.A. Hughes Elementary School, Red Lake Falls School District (Hybrid)

Senator Cwodzinski motioned that SF183 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill. 


Senator Cwodzinski moved that S.F. 183, be laid over.

S.F. 295: Senator Gustafson: Interpreters requirements modifications.

Chair Cwodzinski moved SF295 to be heard in committee; be referred to the Committee on Education Finance.

Senator Gustafson presented SF295.

Senator Gustafson moved the A1 amendment to SF295 be heard before the committee.

Senator Duckworth presented the A1 amendment.

Senator Cwodzinski motioned that the A1 amendment be adopted. A voice vote was taken. The motion prevailed.

Senator Cwodzinski renewed the motion that SF295 be referred to the Committee on Finance. A voice vote was taken. The motion prevailed.


Senator Cwodzinski moved that S.F. 295, be recommended to pass. - MOTION ADOPTED.
