Senator Steve A. Cwodzinski called the meeting to order at 12:30 pm

S.F. 13: Senator Champion: A bill for an act relating to state government; recognizing Juneteenth, June 19, as a state holiday; amending Minnesota Statutes 2022, sections 10.55; 645.44, subdivision 5.

Chair Cwodzinski moved SF13 to be heard in committee; be referred to the Committee on Finance.

 

Senator Champion presented SF13.

 

Senator Maye Quade renewed the motion that SF13 be referred to the Committee on Finance. A voice vote was taken. The motion prevailed.


Senator Maye Quade moved that S.F. 13, be recommended to pass. - MOTION ADOPTED.

S.F. 50: Senator Cwodzinski: A bill for an act relating to education finance; requiring school districts to provide access to menstrual products for students; increasing operating capital aid to fund school district purchases of menstrual products; appropriating money; amending Minnesota Statutes 2022, sections 121A.21; 126C.10, subdivisions 13, 13a, 14.

Chair Cwodzinski moved SF50 to be heard in committee; be referred to the Committee on Education Finance.

 

Chair Cwodzinski presented SF50.

 

Chair Cwodzinski introduced himself before the testifier table and Vice Chair Maye Quade assumed the gavel at 1:32 PM.

Senator Duckworth moved the A6 amendment to SF50 be heard before the committee.

Senator Duckworth presented the A6 amendment.

 

Senaotr Duckworth moved to withdraw the A6 amendment.  

 

Senator Maye Quade renewed the motion that SF50 be referred to the Committee on Education Finance. A voice vote was taken. The motion prevailed.


Senator Maye Quade moved that S.F. 50, be recommended to pass. - MOTION ADOPTED.

S.F. 123: Senator Gustafson: A bill for an act relating to education; providing for school lunch and breakfast for all students; amending Minnesota Statutes 2022, sections 124D.111, subdivisions 1a, 4; 124D.1158, subdivisions 1, 3, 4.

Chair Cwodzinski moved SF123 to be heard in committee; be referred to the Committee on Education Finance.

 

Senator Gustafson presented SF123.

Senator Maye Quade renewed the motion that SF123 be referred to the Committee on Finance. A voice vote was taken. The motion prevailed.


Senator Cwodzinski moved that S.F. 123, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Education Finance Committee. - MOTION ADOPTED.
