Senator Andrew Mathews called the meeting to order at 1:05 PM.

Call to Order


S.F. 226: Senator Rarick: Department of labor and industry minors apprenticeship data classification; construction codes advisory county membership modification.

Senator Rarick introduces SF 226, the Department of Labor and Industry's policy bill. 

 

Commissioner Roslyn Robinson, of the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry on SF 226.

 

Member discussion and questions for the testifier.

 

Senator Anderson move that SF 226 be recommended to pass and placed on general orders.

 

Senator Anderson moved that S.F. 226, be recommended to pass. - MOTION PREVAILED.

S.F. 1535: Senator Duckworth: Birth and death records access modification.

Senator Duckworth introduces SF 1535. 

 

Molly Crawford, from the Minnesota Department of Health testifies in support of SF 1535.

 

Gregory Luce representing the Adoptee Rights Law Center, testifying in "partial opposition" of SF 1535.

Senator Limmer moved that S.F. 1535, be recommended to pass. - MOTION PREVAILED.

S.F. 1671: Senator Ingebrigtsen: Human services commissioner collection of data about children\'s mental health screenings authorization; public guardianship for a person with a developmental disability clarification; petition for an appointment of public guardianship for a person with a developmental disability requirements modification.

Senator Ingebrigtsen introduces SF 1672, and says that it is a department bill.

 

Kristy Graume from the Minnesota Department of Human Services testifies in support of SF 1672.

 

Senator Bigham moves the A-1 Author’s Amendment.

 

Voice vote, and the amendment is adopted. 

 

Member discussion regarding SF 1672 and the A-1 Amendment.

 

Senator Limmer moved that S.F. 1671, be recommended to pass. - MOTION PREVAILED.

S.F. 1704: Senator Ingebrigtsen: Minnesota Child Protection Background Check Act federal law conformance and elderly and individuals with a disability inclusion; criminal history check extension to licensees and county or city employees and volunteers.

Senator Ingebrigtsen introduces SF 1704 as another agency bill. He does have an A-1 Amendment. 

 

Senator Limmer moves the A-1 Amendment on behalf of Senator Ingebrigtsen.

 

Voicevote, the amendment is adopted. 

 

Mr Andrew Evans, the current Superintendent of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension testifying in support of SF 1704
