Present: Senator Andrew Mathews - Chair, Senator Warren Limmer - Vice Chair, Senator Bruce D. Anderson, Senator Karla Bigham, Senator Jim Carlson, Senator Mark Johnson, Senator Ron Latz, Senator Torrey N. Westrom

Senator Andrew Mathews called the meeting to order at 1:38 PM.

Call To Order


S.F. 675: Senator Ruud: Manufactured home certificates of title provisions modifications.

Senator Rudd introduces SF 675. 

 

Senator Bigham offers the A-2 Author’s Amendment. 

 

Senator Rudd said that they are happy to make the change for the Manufactured Homes Association. 

 

Ms Premo said the Amendment was changed and is now the A-3 Amendment.

 

Senator Bigham withdraws her motion on the A-2 Amendment, and offers the A-3 amendment. 

 

Testifiers:

Matthews Spellman with the MN Realtors Association testifying in support of the bill.

John Nielsen from the MN land title association, testifying in support of the bill. 

Mark Brunner from the Manufactured Homes Association testifying regarding SF 675.

 

Voice vote: The A-3 amendment is adopted. 

 

Senator Bigham moves that SF 675 be recommended to pass and placed on general orders. 

 

Voice vote, the motion prevails.

S.F. 742: Senator Jasinski: Prosecuting attorneys crash reports receipt authorization.

Senator Jasinski introduces SF 742.

 

Mike Hanson is the Director of the Office of Public Safety with the MN Department of Transportation, testifying in support of SF 742.

Senator Latz moves that SF 742 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Transportation Finance Committee.

S.F. 28: Senator Howe: Court awarding of attorney fees to the prevailing party in an eviction action authorization.

Senator Howe introduces SF 28, and offers the A-1 amendment.

 

Senator Limmer moves the A-1 Author’s Amendment. 

 

Voice vote on the A-1 Amendment: the motion prevails, with no opposition.

Senator Westrom would like to offer an amendment, he moves the A-3 Amendment. 

 

Voice vote: The A-3 amendment is adopted with no opposition.
