Present: Senator Julie A. Rosen - Chair, Senator Bill Ingebrigtsen - Vice Chair, Senator Michelle R. Benson, Senator Bobby Joe Champion, Senator Mark Johnson, Senator Susan Kent, Senator Mary Kiffmeyer, Senator Melisa López Franzen, Senator John Marty, Senator Eric R. Pratt

Senator Julie A. Rosen called the meeting to order at 8:31 a.m.

S.F. 17: Senator Abeler: Jensen v. Minnesota Department of Human Services settlement costs returned from federal court allocation by commissioner of human services requirement.

Senator Ingebrigsten moved SF 17 before the committtee. Senator Abeler presented SF 17. 

 

Lead Fiscal Analyst Eric Nauman presented the fiscal note.

 

Senate Counsel Tom Bottern walked the committee through an oral amendment. 

 

Senator Ingebrigsten moved to amend SF 17 as follows, page 1 , line 9 after "appropriated" insert "in fiscal year 2021" and on page 1, line 11, after "Division" insert "and is available until June 20, 2022." Motion passed.

 

Discussion.

 

Senator Marty moves SF 17 as amended be recommended to pass. Motion prevails and moves to the floor. 


Senator Ingebrigtsen moved that S.F. 17, be recommended to pass. - MOTION PREVAILED.

S.F. 173: Senator Newman: Election voter registration photo ID requirement; voter identification care creation; provisional ballots establishment; appropriation.

Senator Ingebrigsten moved SF 173 before the committee. Senator Newman presented SF 173. 

 

Senate Analyst Andrew Erickson and Senate Counsel Alexis Stangl presented the A3 amendment. 

 

Senate Fiscal Analyst Krista Boyd presented the fiscal note.

 

Discussion.

 

Senator Ingebrigsten moved SF 173 be recommended to pass as amended. 

 

Senator Marty requests a roll call. There being 6 ayes and 3 nays, the bill as amended is sent to general orders. 


Senator Ingebrigtsen moved that S.F. 173, be recommended to pass. - MOTION PREVAILED.
