Senator Erin P. Murphy called the meeting to order at 8:45 am.

Call to order


S.F. 1259: Senator Mann: Hair technician licenses creation.

Senator Mann presented SF 1259.

 

Chair Murphy moved A3 amendment. 

Motion prevailed with voice vote. 

 

Testimony was heard from Nicauris Rosario; Yolanda Gomez; Isabel Ruiz; Martha Njolomole, Center for American Experiment; Maureen Murphy, Aveda Institute Instructor; Gina Fast, Board of Cosmetology.

 

Chair Murphy laid SF 1259 over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill. 


Senator Murphy moved that S.F. 1259, as amended, laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

S.F. 1481: Senator Boldon: Special service districts establishment, expansion, or enlargement authorization; multiunit residential property to pay service charges authorization.

Senator Boldon presented SF 1481.

 

Chair Murphy moved A1 amendment.

Motion prevailed with voice vote. 

 

Testimony was heard from Daniel Lightfoot, League of Minnesota Cities; Joe Spencer, St Paul Downtown Alliance; Patrick Hynes, Community Associations Institute.

Chair Murphy moved SF 1481, as amended, be recommended to pass. 

Motion prevailed. 


Senator Murphy moved that S.F. 1481, as amended, be recommended to pass. - MOTION PREVAILED.

S.F. 1658: Mohamed State fire museum designation.

Senator Mohamed presented SF 1658. Testimony was heard from Tom Brace, National Fire Sprinkler Association.

 

Chair Murphy laid SF 1658 be laid over for possible inclusion in omnibus bill. 


Senator Murphy moved that S.F. 1658, be laid over and maybe considered for omnibus bill.

S.F. 2165: Senator Dibble: Municipal Building Commission dissolution.

Senator Dibble presented SF 2165.

 

Testimony was heard from Michael Rainville, Minneapolis City Council Kirk Pederson, Hennepin County Kyle Makarios, Minneapolis Building and Construction Trades Council.

 

Chair Murphy moved SF 2165 be laid over for possible inclusion in omnibus bill. 


Senator Murphy moved that S.F. 2165, be laid over and maybe considered for omnibus bill.
