1.1A Senate concurrent resolution
1.2adopting deadlines for the 2009 regular session.
1.3BE IT RESOLVED, by the Senate of the State of Minnesota, the House of Representatives
1.4concurring:
1.5In accordance with Joint Rule 2.03, as modified by this resolution, the deadlines in this
1.6resolution apply to the 2009 regular session.
1.7(1) The first deadline, March 27, 2009, at 8:00 p.m., is for committees to act favorably on
1.8bills in the house of origin.
1.9(2) The second deadline, April 7, 2009, at 11:59 p.m., is for committees to act favorably on
1.10bills, or companions of bills, that met the first deadline in the other house.
1.11(3) The third deadline, April 16, 2009, is for divisions of the House and Senate Committees
1.12on Finance to act favorably on omnibus appropriation bills.
1.13(4) The fourth deadline, April 22, 2009, is for the House and Senate Committees on
1.14Finance, the House Committee on Ways and Means, and the House and Senate Committees on
1.15Taxes to act favorably on omnibus appropriation and tax bills.
1.16(5) The fifth deadline, May 7, 2009, is for conference committees on omnibus appropriation
1.17and tax bills to report bills to the floor.
1.18When a committee in either house acts favorably on a bill after a deadline established in this
1.19resolution, the bill must be referred in the Senate to the Committee on Rules and Administration
1.20or in the House of Representatives to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration for
2.1disposition. Either rules committee, when reporting a bill referred to the committee in accordance
2.2with Joint Rule 2.03 and this resolution, may waive the application of the rule and resolution to
2.3subsequent actions on that bill by other committees.
