1.2honoring the life of Mary J. Brenny.
1.3WHEREAS, Mary J. Brenny was the fifth of 15 children born to Peter and Sophia Lampert
1.4and grew up on her family's dairy farm in the Bowlus area; and
1.5WHEREAS, Mary attended Superior State Teachers College in Superior, Wisconsin, and
1.6Villa Scholastica in Duluth; and
1.7WHEREAS, on August 22, 1946, she married Clemens Brenny at Our Lady of Lourdes
1.8Catholic Church in Little Falls; and
1.9WHEREAS, Mary and Clem owned and operated the Brenny Funeral Homes in Little
1.10Falls, Pierz, Royalton, and Upsala until their retirement, and for many years they also owned and
1.11operated the Brenny Ambulance Service in Morrison County; and
1.12WHEREAS, Mary also taught school for many years and served for ten years as Assistant
1.13County Superintendent of Schools for Morrison County; and
1.14WHEREAS, Mary devoted her life to her family, helped her husband run their business,
1.15and was actively involved in numerous civic and charitable organizations; and
1.16WHEREAS, Mary J. Brenny passed away on December 4, 2008, and will be dearly missed
1.17by those who knew her; NOW, THEREFORE,
1.18BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it honors the life of Mary J.
1.19Brenny and extends its sincere condolences to her family and friends.
2.1BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
2.2enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by his signature and that of the Chair of the
2.3Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the family of Mary J. Brenny.
