1.2relating to rules; modifying requirement for rotation of committee chairs; amending
1.3permanent rule 10.5.
1.4BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota:
1.5Permanent Rule 10.5 is amended to read:
1.610.5A member may not serve as the chair of the same standing committee or the same
1.7division of a standing committee, or a committee or division with substantially the same
1.8jurisdiction, for more than three consecutive Senate terms
, provided that a chair whose third term
1.9ends in a year ending in one may serve a fourth consecutive term of no more than two years. This
1.10limit does not apply to the Committee on Rules and Administration. This limit applies to time
1.11served as a chair in the seventy-eighth legislature and thereafter.
