Roger Reinert, 41, won election to the Minnesota Senate by a wide margin in 2010, and is currently completing his first term.  He represents Senate District 7, which is essentially the City of Duluth.  Prior to his election to the Senate, Reinert served one term in the Minnesota House.  He also served as an at Large City Councilor for five years, and was twice elected City Council President.

In his day job, Senator Reinert is a faculty member in Political Science at Lake Superior College.  He also teaches graduate public policy courses at UMD.  Reinert earned his private pilot's license in 2011, and is an avid runner.
