BIOGRAPHY

A native of Preston, MN, Ted Daley now lives in Eagan, where he has served on the Eagan Planning Commission, is Cubmaster for Pack 446, an active lector at St. John Neumann Catholic Church and has coached soccer, basketball and track through the Eagan Athletic Association. Ted received his MBA from the University of St Thomas with an emphasis in accounting and is an actively licensed certified public accountant (CPA).

In 1984 Ted accepted a nomination to attend West Point where he graduated with a double language major in Russian and German and a minor in Engineering. In 1990 Ted was reassigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and a short while later, he deployed with his artillery unit to Saudi Arabia and Iraq to serve in Operation DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM in 1990/1991. After Ted completed his first active duty obligation, he returned to Minnesota and after earning his MBA in 1996, he worked for Coopers & Lybrand, at the time, one of the “Big Six” CPA firms in the country, receiving a designation as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). A few years later he moved to US Bancorp as an acting VP for Fraud (Prevention) Policy and Strategy. It was during this time, Ted served on the Board of Directors for the US Federal Credit Union (1997-2001)

After 9/11, Ted answered the call to duty, and served on continuous orders from 2001 until February 2009. During this turbulent time in our country, Ted deployed to the Middle East in 2003, Cuba in 2005 and to Iraq for all of 2008 where he served with the State Department as Sr. Economic Advisor on the Provincial Reconstruction Team.

Since completing his deployment in Iraq, Ted gained valuable executive leadership experience as General Manager for a small privately-held manufacturing company in Burnsville, MN. This position gave Ted a great understanding of the challenges small businesses face in the State of Minnesota.  Throughout Ted Daley’s military career, he has served on the national and international level and now as a State Senator has continued that service and extended it to the local community and the State of Minnesota. In his free time Ted enjoys camping with his family and spending time with his children.
