Proudly Serving Senate District 22
Senator Doug Magnus (R-Slayton) represents District 22, which includes Cottonwood, Jackson, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock counties in the southwestern corner of the state.
Magnus, 61, was elected to his first term in the State Senate in 2010 after previously serving in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2003-2010, representing district 22A. Senator Magnus serves as the chairman of the Senate Agriculture and Rural Economies Committee during the 2011-2012 biennium.
Magnus may be the best-traveled representative in the Minnesota Legislature, having built up frequent flier miles during his many years as the international marketing chair and chairman of the boards of state and national soybean organizations. A fourth generation farmer, Senator Magnus lives on his 1,300 acre farm with his wife Brenda.
