Legislators to Hold Town Meetings in June

State Sen. Ron Latz will join with Reps. Steve Simon and Ryan Winkler to host town hall meetings in Golden Valley, Hopkins and St. Louis Park in the coming weeks to discuss the recently concluded legislative 2012 session.

“We spent four months at the Capitol and ended a legislative session that was largely disappointing,” Sen. Latz said. “There were a number of missed opportunities to create jobs and help boost Minnesota’s economy. I was particularly frustrated by the too-small bonding bill that ignored crucial projects like the Southwest Light Rail. We want to hear from the people of our area on these and other important issues.”

Rep. Simon added: “This was a tough session and it was difficult to find bipartisan solutions to the issues that face our state. Now that the session is over, we want to hear what the people of our area have to say about what lies ahead for Minnesota.”

“This was a lackluster legislative session that consisted of missed opportunities and disappointments for the people of Minnesota. The gridlock in St. Paul hurts our schools, homeowners, communities and businesses,” Rep. Winkler said. “It’s been a challenging session. Hearing from the people of our area on these and other issues is extremely important to us.”
