| SENATOR JOHN CARLSON SURVEYS VERSO PAPER MILL DAMAGE | ||||||||||||
Sartell --- State Senator John Carlson (R-Bemidji) surveyed the fire damage at the Verso paper mill in Sartell on Thursday morning. After viewing the result of the explosion and fire, Sen. Carlson offered the following comments:
“We were pleased to learn that the fire is under control and is no longer a serious threat. Questions still remain about the structural integrity of the building and how quickly operations can resume. I am committed to working with Governor Dayton, my legislative colleagues and local area leaders to helping to do all we can to restore and rebuild the Verso plant to get the paper mill, their employees and their wood suppliers working again. Those of us, who visited the damage today, share the concerns of the employees and their families affected by this terrible tragedy. I will do my best to keep my constituents informed with more details as they become available.”
