SENATE MAJORITY LEADER SENJEM STATEMENT ON ETHICS COMMITTEE MEETING

St. Paul- Senate Majority Leader David Senjem (R-Rochester) issued the following statement on the Senate Subcommittee on Ethical Conduct’s meeting Tuesday.

“Bringing an ethics charge against Senator Michel was nothing more than political gamesmanship by the DFL. The DFL knows this and should be embarrassed. Everyone who knows Senator Michel knows of his openness and his desire to always do the ‘right thing.’ In fact, Senator Michel has worked to protect the interests of the Senate and Senate staff,” said Senator Senjem. “To further their political goals, the DFL is willing to tarnish the name and reputation of a good man and a great Senator whose only fault was to bring sunshine and openness to a difficult situation.”

“Senator Michel is one of the most ethical, decent persons I have worked with in the State Legislature. He is not deserving the charges the Senate DFL is confronting him with,” concluded Senator Senjem.
