STATEMENT FROM SENATOR MICHELLE FISCHBACH

(ST. PAUL) – Senator Michelle Fischbach (R-Paynesville), chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Ethical Conduct, issued the following statement:

“At this time, I do not intend to reconvene the Senate Subcommittee on Ethical Conduct tonight. The committee will be adjourned at midnight under Senate rule 12.4.

Earlier today, we heard statements from both parties involved and engaged in discussion as to whether or not probable cause of a violation exists at this time.

It is under advice of counsel that we give them an opportunity to further consider the matter before proceeding with additional committee discussion.

We will honor Senate rules that state action must be taken within 30 days of receiving the complaint.”
