| SENATOR GEOFF MICHEL’S RESPONSE TO DFL JOBS PLAN | ||||||||||||
St. Paul – Senator Geoff Michel (R-Edina), Chair of the Senate Jobs and Economic Growth Committee, commented on Governor Dayton and DFL lawmaker’s plans to grow jobs in Minnesota:
“I am pleased that Governor Dayton and members of the DFL agree that job growth in Minnesota is the top priority as we approach the 2012 legislative session. We found several areas of agreement last year and our hope is that we can continue to identify, scale back, and eliminate excessive costs, regulations, and other obstacles that hinder job creation.
“Over the course of the interim, members of our caucus have been meeting with business owners, community leaders and local elected officials to gather ideas that help to grow and expand jobs in the private sector. Job creators across our state have been telling us that we can help them by getting government out of their way, reducing regulatory and tax burdens, and letting them do what they do best: create jobs."
