| SENATOR ROSEN’S STATEMENT ON STADIUM HEARINGS Senate author welcomes opportunity for lawmakers, citizens to discuss possible solutions | ||||||||||||
(ST. PAUL) – State Senator Julie Rosen (R-Fairmont), chief Senate author of Vikings stadium legislation, issued the following statement today in response to the announcement by Senate leaders of hearings on stadium proposals:
“Senate Republican leadership has taken a bold and necessary step to engage the public at an important time. This issue is important to me and other Minnesotans for a variety of reasons, including the economic impact of the potential loss and what that loss would mean to our state’s tax base in jobs and investment. The Vikings are part of our state’s identity, and we cannot just turn our backs.
“It is obvious that this issue will not have a simple solution or an easy consensus. I look forward to working with our House colleagues, Governor Dayton, the Minnesota Vikings and other Minnesotans to find a solution that invests in a positive future that keeps the Vikings in Minnesota without burdening taxpayers.”
