| MINNESOTA SENATE REPUBLICAN CAUCUS CHIEF OF STAFF TO LEAVE POSITION | ||||||||||||
St. Paul- Minnesota Senator Majority Leader Amy Koch (R-Buffalo) announced Wednesday that Cullen Sheehan will be leaving his position as Chief of Staff of the Minnesota Senate Republican Caucus. Kevin Matzek, current Legislative Director for the Caucus, will be the interim Chief of Staff. Senator Koch gave the following statement on the change within the Caucus.
“Cullen has been a tremendous asset to the Minnesota Senate Caucus. The Caucus’ transition from minority to majority in the Minnesota Senate, for the first time in 38 years, would not have been possible without his leadership. In a naturally partisan environment, Cullen has managed to earn respect from both sides of the aisle for his professionalism and knowledge. Cullen will be greatly missed by all of us in the Caucus and we wish him the best in all future endeavors,” said Senator Koch.
“Kevin Matzek has extensive knowledge about the legislature which has made him invaluable as the Minnesota Senate Caucus’ Legislative Director. Furthermore, his prior experience as Chief of Staff for the House Republican Caucus make him a strong fit in the capacity of interim Chief of Staff for our caucus,” concluded Senator Koch.
