SENATOR NELSON STATEMENT ON SCHOOL LEVIES

Rochester- Senator Carla Nelson (R-Rochester) released the following statement in response to local school districts considering levies.

"The legislatureprovided increased funding for K-12 education and held MVC, county aidand LGA at the same level as last year. I am proud that our state budgetput more dollars in the classroom and implemented critical reforms toimprove our students' education. As a legislator, I have worked hard tocommunicate those state funding facts to local government officials.However, I am a firm believer in local control and I think it is up tothose locally elected leaders and constituents to determine the need forlevies."
