| SENATE REPUBLICANS TO HOLD INFORMATIONAL HEARING ON UNIONIZATION OF CHILD CARE PROVIDERS | ||||||||||||
St. Paul –Senate Republicans announced today that they will hold an informational hearing to explore the consequences of Gov. Dayton’s consideration of unionizing in-home daycare providers.
Last week, Governor Dayton commented on the potential unionization of stay-at-home childcare providers, and controversy has since clouded the legalities and legislative process of how, why or if this could be accomplished.
The hearing will serve to gather additional information, input and concerns from affected child care providers, advocacy groups and members of the governor’s administration.
The hearing will be chaired by the following members:
Senator David Hann (R-Eden Prairie), Chairman, Senate Health and Human Services Committee
Senator Mike Parry (R-Waseca), Chairman, Senate State Government Innovation and Veterans Committee
Specific details concerning location, time and legislative participants will be announced as they become available.
