SENATOR MILLER NOMINATED TO PARTICIPATE IN INTERNATIONAL POLITICAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM

St. Paul – State Senator Jeremy Miller (R-Winona) was nominated by Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch (R-Buffalo) to participate as a delegate on an international political exchange program, organized by the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL). Delegates are chosen annually from a pool of several hundred nominations submitted by Members of Congress, Governors, national and state party organizations, and former ACYPL alumni.

Senator Miller commented, “I am honored by Majority Leader Koch’s nomination to serve as a delegate in this exchange program. The ACYPL is a respected organization that promotes education of international affairs and global policies through exchanges with over 20 countries in the world. This is a unique opportunity, and it would be an honor to be selected.”

If selected, delegates would participate in an international, bi-partisan 8-14 day program in one of 20-25 countries. The program is designed to expose leaders to another country’s politics, governance, policymaking, history and culture.

“I’m confident Senator Miller will be an excellent representative of our caucus and our state,” added Senate Majority Leader Koch. “Senator Miller, one of the youngest senators in Minnesota’s history, has a lot to offer in the ACYPL’s exchange of people and ideas.”

Delegations are comprised of seven to ten political leaders between the ages of 25 and 40, who are selected based on their current roles in politics and government. During the two week program, delegates will interact with a variety of officials, policymakers, and corporate and community leaders to discuss and debate ideas and issues in government.
