| SENATE MAJORITY LEADER AMY KOCH TO GOV. DAYTON: STOP HOLDING SCHOOL DISTRICTS HOSTAGE, SIGN K-12 BILL | ||||||||||||
Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch (R-Buffalo) released the following statement calling on Gov. Mark Dayton to sign the K-12 Education funding bill.
"The Minnesota House and Senate have completed their Constitutional responsibility of passing a completed and balanced budget plan, which doesn’t raise taxes, but yet contains over $3 billion in additional revenues. All budget bills have been presented to Governor Dayton for his review and signature.
"The final language on the K-12 Education bill has been available online for more than a week and yesterday, Governor Dayton was formally presented with the K-12 Education bill. This legislation contains many reforms and initiatives, and the spending levels agree with Gov. Dayton’s position by 99.4 percent. Non-partisan fiscal staff estimates a statewide average school revenue increase of $243 per student. Governor Dayton should stop holding school districts hostage by forcing a Special Session and sign this important legislation.”
