| CHAIR ROSEN’S STATEMENT ON ELLEN ANDERSON CONFIRMATION VOTE |
“Today, the Senate Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications Committee moved the Governor’s appointment of former Senator Ellen Anderson to the floor without recommendation.
“Ellen Anderson clearly has a lifetime of experience dealing with energy issues. My concern is that it has been agenda-driven, with bias towards specific types of energy and against others that may be the answer to Minnesota families’ and businesses’ growing needs.
“Our committee’s action to move Anderson’s consideration to the full Senate will give all Senators the opportunity to consider whether she can in the future be an impartial authority, and put aside past biases to help Minnesota meet our future energy needs responsibly.”
