| Senator Dave Thompson Appointed To Two Critical Budget Conference Committees |
St. Paul– The Senate announced conference committee appointments Monday for their omnibus budget bills. Conference committees are the next step in the budget process where members from both chambers, Senate and House, meet to resolve differences in their proposals to produce one single bill. Senator Dave Thompson (R-Lakeville) was appointed to both the Education Conference Committee and the State Government Innovation and Veterans Conference Committee. Senator Thompson gave the following statement after the announcement.
"I am fortunate to serve on two critical conference committees: Education and State Government Innovation & Veterans. Education spending and policy are issues in which I am deeply interested. The State Government Innovation/Veterans Committee deals with many issues that are at the heart of our effort to create a smaller, more efficient state government that serves the people effectively. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the House to do what’s best for Minnesota."
