| SENATOR BENJAMIN KRUSE WELCOMES BROOKLYN PARK RESIDENT & VIETNAM WAR VETERAN LEE ULFERTS TO LEAD PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE IN SENATE | ||||||||||||
(ST. PAUL) The Senate Republican Caucus began a new initiative this year, inviting United States military veterans to lead the Senate body in the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of session each Monday. Monday, March 28, 2011, Senator Benjamin Kruse (R-Brooklyn Park) and the Senate body welcomed Brooklyn Park resident and Vietnam War Veteran Lee Ulferts to lead the Pledge.
I am so honored to have Lee Ulferts lead the Pledge of Allegiance. He served with tremendous courage and is a true inspiration for us all. I am especially grateful for his commitment to the Veterans of Foreign Wars where he continues to serve as State Junior Vice Commander. Through his work, Mr. Ulferts has made a concerted effort to welcome our youngest veterans and their families to the VFW community, said Senator Kruse. It is privilege to welcome Mr. Ulferts to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Senator Kruse was elected to his first term in November 2010. Senator Kruse can be reached at: 651-296-4154 (office) or sen.ben.kruse@senate.mn.
