| STATEMENT FROM SENATOR SCOTT NEWMAN ON UNANIMOUS BI-PARTISAN DECISION BY ETHICS COMMITTEE TO DISMISS COMPLAINT FILED BY SENATE DFL | ||||||||||||
(ST. PAUL) – Please see the statement below from Senator Scott Newman (R-Hutchinson):
"I am pleased that the Senate Subcommittee on Ethics dismissed the complaint filed by three DFL Senators after voting in a unanimous, bi-partisan manner that no probable cause basis existed for the complaint.
As I stated before, I did not personally send the email in question, nor was I aware of it. However, I did immediately apologize for the confusion and frustration it caused and I accepted complete responsibility.
I share the committee’s desire to make it unmistakably clear that any conduct of this type would be of deep concern to all and would not be acceptable in the Minnesota State Senate.
I look forward to continuing my service to all constituents of Senate District 18 as the legislative session continues."
