| JOHN CARLSON OF BEMIDJI SWORN IN AS DISTRICT 4 SENATOR |
(ST. PAUL) – John Carlson of Bemidji was sworn in Tuesday as Minnesota’s 87th legislative session began. Joined by 36 fellow Republican senators, Republicans are now in the Senate majority for the first time in over 30 years.
“I am honored to serve the residents of District 4 as their State Senator. There are fantastic opportunities out there, and I am excited and ready to get to work,” remarked freshman Senator Carlson. “We are ready to lead and work toward goals that all Minnesotans want and expect: a balanced budget, an improved business climate and a government that is more efficient and more effective.”
A small business owner from Bemidji, Senator Carlson will serve on the Minnesota Senate Capital Investment, Environment and Natural Resources, Higher Education and State and Government Innovation and Veterans Committees in the new Republican led legislature.
