| SEN. DAN HALL & SENATE MAJORITY UNVEIL JOBS BILL | ||||||||||||
(ST. PAUL) -- In an effort to boost Minnesota’s business climate and stimulate private sector job growth, Senate Republican leaders released their jobs initiative, Senate File One (SF1). The bill contains three principal components: a fifty percent, phased-in reduction of the business income tax rate, a roll back and freeze on business property taxes, and regulatory relief.
“This bill is a critical first step towards job growth in Minnesota,” said Senator Dan Hall (R-Burnsville). “We need to re-establish Minnesota as a great place to start and expand businesses. This means reducing the tax burden on small businesses and streamlining the regulatory process. We cannot afford to fall behind in the global marketplace. This legislation includes significant reforms that will make Minnesota more competitive and business-friendly, spurring job growth.”
Upon convening the 2011 Legislative Session, the new Senate Republican majority immediately began holding formal committee hearings. The first committee to meet was the Committee on Jobs and Economic Growth.
