Primary Responsibilities:
  • Runs errands throughout the Capitol complex for Senators during committee meetings and office staff when meetings are not being conducted.
  • Assists in preparation of materials for meetings.
  • Distributes materials and cleans up after meetings.
  • Provides clerical, messenger and administrative support to committee staff and members.
  • Assists members and Front Desk staff in Chamber during floor sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • College degree or equivalent experience as well as some work experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Access & Excel) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Legislative process preferred.
  • Ability to work long hours and under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and retain information.
  • Ability to accept responsibility, follow directions and perform assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and to handle politically sensitive work with maturity.
