1996 PRIMARY SOURCE LIQUOR STUDY

John Williams

Patrick J. McCormack

and

Dan Mueller

This Primary Source study provides an overview of Minnesota's unique law regarding importation of distilled liquors. The report was required by the 1995 Minnesota Legislature. A primary source law requires all distilled spirits to be imported directly from the brand owner, distiller, or manufacturer. Minnesota allows importation from third world sources, free trade zones, and wholesalers in other states.
