S.F. No. 3118 allows the commissioner of transportation, at the request of a county board, to establish a speed limit in excess of 55 m.p.h., based on an engineering study.  The county must erect signs.  Alternately, a county board may, by resolution, increase the speed limit on a county road from 55 m.p.h. to 60 m.p.h. The county must erect appropriate signage.
