Section 1 ( 144.419, subd. 1) amends the definition of communicable disease to any disease that can be transmitted person to person and for which isolation or quarantine is an effective control strategy.

Section 2 (144.4196, subd. 1) amends the definition of a qualifying employee to include a person who has the responsibility for the care of a person who is subject to isolation or quarantine for a communicable disease and who is a minor or an adult family member who is disabled or a vulnerable adult with the responsibility for all or a portion of the person’s care

Section 3 (144.4196, subd. 2) adds to the employee’s protections as an employee who is not in isolation or quarantine but who has the responsibility for the care of a person who is in isolation or quarantine who is a minor or an adult family member who is disabled or a vulnerable adult and who has the responsibility for all or a portion of the care for that person.
