Prepared By: Nora Pollock, Senate Counsel (651/297-8066)

This bill provides an excise tax credit for farm wineries on wine or cider sold in a fiscal year.  A farm winery is defined, in part, as a winery that produces no more than 75,000 gallons in a calendar year. The credit may be claimed on the 18th of each month but the total amount of credit in a fiscal year must not exceed the winery’s tax liability or $136,275, whichever is less.

Effective July 1, 2016.
