Section 1 is a cross-reference to the operative language of the bill in section 2.

Section 2, Subdivision 1, defines “in custody” and “electronic incapacitation cuff” for the purposes of the bill.

Subdivision 2 prohibits the use of electronic incapacitation cuffs on someone who is in custody.

Subdivision 3 provides that a violation of this section is a petty misdemeanor.

The bill is effective August 1, 2016, and applies to acts committed on or after that date.
