SF 746 includes in the definition of “patient” as it applies to the Minnesota Health Records Act, the adult children of a deceased patient. Currently, the surviving spouse and parents of a deceased patient are included in the definition of patient. This would add the adult children, thereby allowing the adult children access to the deceased patient’s medical records.
