S.F. No. 566 - Medical Assistance (MA) Spenddown Procedures Modification

Author: Senator John A. Hoffman

Prepared By: Liam Monahan, Senate Analyst (651/296-1791)

Date: March 4, 2015

S.F. No. 566 modifies the spenddown procedures for medical assistance (MA) recipients on a one-month spenddown who do not choose to pay their spenddown in advance. The commissioner must collect any spenddown directly from these MA recipients.  The commissioner must also reimburse providers for services provided to these MA recipients even if the recipients have not yet paid their monthly spenddown.
