S.F. No. 1152 allows political subdivisions to post proceedings, official notices, and summaries on the political subdivision’s Web site. (A political subdivision includes counties, cities, towns, school districts, and any other local political subdivision or local or area district, commission, board, or authority.) The political subdivision must designate that it will post its proceedings, notices, and summaries on its Web site instead of publishing them in the newspaper. The political subdivision must also publish notice of the alternative publication in a qualified newspaper and on the political subdivision’s Web site. Postings on the Web site must be in the same format and for the same time as it would be if the item were published in the newspaper. The political subdivision must make paper copies available at its main office, any other designated offices, and at all public libraries within the jurisdiction. An individual may request to be mailed a copy of any posting.
