The bill concerns state rail bank property, which consists of abandoned rail lines acquired by the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT). The bill would:
-
expand the list of restricted activities on state rail bank property, such as prohibiting plowing and placing permanent structures;
-
allow for placement of fencing and signs if authorized by MnDOT; and
-
makes second or subsequent violations of the statute a misdemeanor rather than a petty misdemeanor.
