This bill establishes special license plates showing support for family farmers in Minnesota.  An applicant must:

(1)   be the registered owner of a passenger automobile, one-ton pickup truck, motorcycle, or recreational motor vehicle;

(2)   pay a fee of $10 for the set of special plates;

(3) pays required registration tax; and

(4)   comply with laws and rules on registration of motor vehicles and licensing of drivers.

The Commissioner of Public Safety will design the plate emblem, in consultation with organizations that represent Minnesota farmers, and will keep a record of the number of plates issued.  These special plates may be transferred to another registered vehicle of the owner upon payment of a $5 fee.  All fees collected from sale or transfer of these plates are to be deposited in the vehicle services operating account in the special revenue fund.
