This bill modifies the definition of a redevelopment district by requiring that 50 percent or more of the buildings in a particular district be structurally substandard. This is a change from current law that requires "more than 50 percent" be structurally substandard and potentially barred districts with exactly 50 percent coverage.
This section is effective the day following final enactment.
