S.F. No. 1544 (A-2 amendment) authorizes counties, towns, cities, and other public corporations to lease or convey land for less than market value to a congressionally chartered veteran service organization for public use. The governing body must authorize the lease or conveyance. Any property conveyed must not be sold or otherwise conveyed for five years after the veteran service organization receives the property. For purposes of the new subdivision, “congressionally chartered veteran service organization” means a veteran organization granted a charter by the United States Congress.
