S.F. No. 640 - Joint Dedication Fees for Minneapolis and Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board

Author: Senator D. Scott Dibble

Prepared By: Alexis C. Stangl, Senate Counsel (651/296-4397)

Date: May 4, 2011

This bill changes the Minneapolis and Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board joint dedication fee. A cross-reference to Minnesota Statutes, section 462.358, is removed; this statute relates to zoning, subdivision regulation, and dedication of land to the public or for public use. A dedication fee may be imposed in conjunction with the construction permit required for the specified projects. The cash fee may be set at a flat fee rate per new residential units.

The bill is effective August 1, 2011, and after local approval by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and the Minneapolis City Council.
