S.F. No. 477 - Exemption to the Food, Beverage, and Lodging Establishment Chapter

Author: Senator John Howe

Prepared By: Katie Cavanor, Senate Counsel (651/296-3801)

Date: April 29, 2011

S.F. No. 477 exempts from the requirements of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 157 (Regulating Food, Beverage, and Lodging Establishments), property owned or leased by a church, and sportsman organizations with tax exempt status, as well as organizations that are affiliated with or related to a sportsman organization. This bill also removes the limitations to events that are organized by fraternal, sportsman, or patriotic organizations where home-prepared food is donated. Finally, the bill clarifies the exemption for school concession stands by referring to the statutory definition.
