S.F. No. 366 - Gross Weight Seasonal Increases for Sweet Corn Transportation

Author: Senator Mike Parry

Prepared By: Krista Boyd, Senate Fiscal Analyst (651/296-7681)

Date: April 28, 2011

This bill amends the section of statute that allows seasonal increases to statutory weight limits of vehicles transporting certain harvested products.  The bill adds “sweet corn” to the list of products that may be hauled from the beginning of harvest to November 30 at ten percent over otherwise allowable vehicle weight limits.  Current law allows this seasonal increase for the transport of sugar beets, carrots, and potatoes.
