This bill creates a special motor vehicle license plate for women veterans.  The plates must bear the inscription “WOMAN VETERAN” and shall be designed by the Commissioner of Veterans Affairs, in consultation with the Commissioner of Public Safety, the Minnesota Women Veterans Initiative Working Group, and other interested veterans service organizations.

The bill also removes statutory authorization for World War I veterans’ special plates, and makes related design changes to the World War II veterans’ special plates.

The bill is effective July 1, 2011.
