This bill adds professional services contracts to sections of law that currently regulate building and construction contracts. Under the bill, indemnification agreements contained in a professional services contract would be unenforceable except in certain situations and certain other provisions would be prohibited or required in a professional services contract. "Professional services contract" means a contract for services provided by a person licensed under Minnesota Statutes, sections 326.02 to 326.15 (architects, engineers, surveyors, geoscientists). The act is effective August 1, 2011.
