Section 1 allows medical assistance coverage for consultation provided by a psychologist via telephone, e-mail, facsimile, or other means of communication to primary care practitioners. Current law allows coverage only for psychiatrists.

Section 2 increases the critical access mental health payment rate by 23.7 percent for certain services rendered by a psychologist. The services are listed in paragraph (b) of this section of law.
